My journey into iOS development started long before I wrote my first line of code. As a teenager, I was fascinated by technology. I remember watching WWDC keynotes from Apple as a teenager and thinking, one day I want to be there. At the time, I did not fully understand what that path would look like, but I knew I was drawn to building technology that felt purposeful and impactful.
My career began in active duty military service, where I developed discipline, accountability, and a deep attention to detail. That experience shaped how I approach everything I build today. Precision matters. Focus matters. Execution matters.
After transitioning to the Air National Guard, I worked in construction as a civilian. That is where I discovered something important about myself. I love building things. I enjoyed taking raw materials and turning them into something functional and real. There is something deeply satisfying about bringing ideas to life.
During a deployment, I began teaching myself web development. That curiosity quickly evolved into learning iOS development. The moment I started working with Swift, everything clicked. The language felt expressive and intentional. It felt like the right tool for the kind of products I wanted to create. That was the moment I knew I would become an iOS engineer.
Shortly after beginning my iOS journey, I was invited to attend WWDC 22, which I proudly did. Standing there in person, in the environment I once only watched from afar, reinforced that I was on the right path. In that moment, I was reminded of something Steve Jobs once said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” Looking back, every step, from military service to construction to self teaching during deployment, suddenly made sense. It was not just inspiration. It was confirmation.
Since then, I have been committed to mastering Swift and SwiftUI. I focus on clean architecture, scalable foundations, structured networking layers, and thoughtful user experience. I build with intention and long term growth in mind. I believe great software should feel crafted, not assembled.
My path was not traditional. It was shaped by service, discipline, construction, self teaching, and relentless curiosity. Every step sharpened my ability to focus, build, and execute.
I am building toward one goal.
To become an exceptional iOS engineer and contribute to products that truly matter.
